Next spring, Maarten will join Amorroma for their april-mai tour 2011. Some time ago, Amorroma decided to continue as a duo, consisting of Jowan Merckx (Zefiro Torna, Les Ballets C de la B) on flutes/pipes and Sarah Ridy (L’Arpeggiata) on baroque harp. For this specific period Amorroma grows into a sextet with Vincent Noiret on double bass, Elly Aerden on vocals, Toon Van Mierlo on pipes and Maarten on mandola. Together with this project a new cd will be released in april 2011.

Some days ago, Maarten organised a Short Film Festival with his pupils of Deinzes Music School. The young musicians played their newly composed soundtrack of the Raoul Servais’ short films. Servais was special guest on the festival and he was very enthousiastic about the project.

Naragonia’s latest album has been released. It’s called Carabel and Maarten takes care of the strings on two tracks. The first concert with the new repertoire was last week in Leuven on the occasion of the Folk Celebration with Luc Pilartz, Jokke Schreurs and Soetkin Collier.

Maarten will play on the brand new album of Naragonia. Last week they recorded some tunes together. The album will be released on april 17th on their Carte Blanche to Naragonia Concert in Leuven with plenty of guests!

Tomorrow, the Idool 1900-tour starts for real. After a good première in Ternat, we’ll travel the country with this project during january-februari. The first concerts for 2011 are almost confirmed. Here you find the gig calendar.

The Idool 1900 Project is almost finished. We are now working towards the première in Ternat on december 18th. The project is built around the songs/dialects of Marc Hauman, Walter De Buck and Olle Geris, while old movies will be shown from way back in Grandpa’s Era.

Snaarmaarwaar just returned home from their Chinese adventure. They played concerts in sold out (!) theatres in Nanjing, invited by the World and Jazz Festival.

And they keep coming, the concerts abroad. After Canada, Germany, France, Slovenia and Holland, Göze leaves tomorrow for two concerts in Portugal. They will play there for the festivities of the Belgian Week in Lisbon. Here’s the programme.
